The real question on everyone's mind: is Sonic Mania Plus on Switch worth playing? For fans of the series or classic Sonic games, the answer is an easy "yes." The game's nostalgic value alone makes it a worthwhile experience, and the updated content in "Plus" mode adds a few hours of replayability to the package.

In conclusion, Sonic Mania Plus on Switch (NSP update patched) is a love letter to classic Sonic fans, with enough updated content to justify a revisit. But for everyone else, it might be a more complicated sell. If you're willing to overlook some frustrating difficulty spikes and dated presentation, you'll find a challenging and nostalgic platformer that still holds up today.

The NSP update for Sonic Mania Plus on Switch brings with it all the original game's charm, alongside some welcome additions. The game now includes the "Plus" mode, which introduces new stages, gameplay mechanics, and even a few surprises for die-hard Sonic enthusiasts. But let's get one thing straight: this is still Sonic Mania, with all its quirks and frustrations intact.

Sonic Mania Plus, the enhanced version of the 2017's Sonic Mania, has finally made its way to the Nintendo Switch, and I'm left wondering if this NSP (Nintendo Switch Package) update is truly worth the nostalgic dive. For the uninitiated, Sonic Mania is a throwback to the classic Sonic games of the 90s, with its fast-paced levels, catchy tunes, and (occasionally) maddening difficulty spikes.

I love how you say you are right in the title itself. Clearly nobody agrees with you. The episode was so great it was nominated for an Emmy. Nothing tops the chain mail curse episode? Really? Funny but not even close to the highlight of the series.

Dissent is dissent. I liked the chain mail curse. Also the last two episodes of the season were great.

Honestly i fully agree. That episode didn’t seem like the rest of the series, the humour was closer to other sitcoms (friends, how i met your mother) with its writing style and subplots. The show has irreverent and stupid humour, but doesn’t feel forced. Every ‘joke’ in the episode just appealed to the usual late night sitcom audience and was predictable (oh his toothpick is an effortless disguise, oh the teams money catches fire, oh he finds out the talking bass is worthless, etc). I didn’t have a laugh all episode save the “one human alcoholic drink please” thing which they stretched out. Didn’t feel like i was watching the same show at all and was glad when they didn’t return to this forced humour. Might also be because the funniest characters with best delivery (Nandor and Guillermo) weren’t in it

And yet…that is the episode that got the Emmy nomination! What am I missing? I felt like I was watching a bad improv show where everyone was laughing at their friends but I wasn’t in on the joke.
